Swiss Pocket Watch With Exposed Pendulum
Crafted in the mid-1800s for the Chinese market this fanciful Swiss pocket watch is a working piece of art. Covering the dial in beautiful ornamentation are two handsome peacocks standing on a balcony gallery. The birds’ vibrant tail feathers cascade downwards to showcase an exposed mock pendulum ticking in time with the watch. Inside the silver case is an engraved and gilt key wind 15 jewel movement with duplex escapement. Further adding to the mechanical interest of this unusual piece is a full exhibition back showcasing the beautifully engraved and intricate workings. Finally, at the center of the multicolored watch face is a classic Roman numeral dial to display the time.
This fantastical pocket watch is fully restored and has a one-year warranty.
The watch measures 55 mm.
