Swiss Triptych Desk Clock and Barometer By Gübelin
Triptychs, defined by art, music, or literary works displayed in three sections, have been used in both artwork and altarpieces for centuries. This unique design takes the form of a clock and barometer set in this unusual desk clock. The two side panels feature beautiful musical mosaic scenes crafted in mother of pearl. On one side, a young woman sits beneath a tree playing the harp. Her companion across the clock, a young boy, sits on a stool playing the mandolin. The clock and barometer reside in a luxurious gilt brass case in the center of the artwork. An 8-day fully restored 15 jewel movement by famed Swiss clock and watch brand, Gübelin, powers the clock.
